Occasionally the Society makes representations on planning and related matters to try and ensure that any impacts on the historic environment (archaeology, historic landscape and built heritage) of Essex are appropriately considered and dealt with. Representations are made to Local Planning Authorities, The Planning Inspectorate, Government Departments and Members of Parliament as appropriate. Recently we have commented on the archaeological mitigation required for the new Lower Thames Crossing and the implications of proposed reorganisation of the Planning System. You can download the full comments on these and other recent issues.
